Failure to acquire the necessary permit needed for compliance with any borough ordinance will result in a citation and/or fine.

All Borough ordinances are strictly enforced, any failure to adhere to all borough ordinances will result in appropriate legal action ranging from warnings, to citations, to public nuisance charges, and in severe situations the Code Enforcement Officer has the ability to revoke an occupancy permit.
Weeds and grass must not be longer than six inches in height. Please keep your grass and weeds cut and trimmed on a regular basis.
Junk Vehicle/Abandoned Vehicle is any vehicle not having both a current inspection sticker and a current license plate, and as such; is not permitted on public or private property in Mount Carmel Borough. Any vehicle not capable of operating shall be classified as a junked vehicle and as such is not permitted on public or private property in Mount Carmel Borough.
Snow and Ice must be removed from the sidewalks within 12 hours after it has stopped falling or forming. Failure to have the sidewalks shoveled within 12 hours will result in a fine being imposed. As a responsible citizen it is your job to use common sense and anticipate these events based on weather forecasts.
